Child Protection and New Technology: DCPC Refresher Course

It is now possible to combine your refresher training with a course covering risks posed by new technology and developing awareness around e-Safety. This training will also provide designated leads with an updated knowledge of resources and materials that are available to be used to support safe practise across the safeguarding agenda e.g. Thresholds and eligability criteria and risk assessments.

e-Safety is an essential element of safeguarding children and young people and is concerned with safeguarding in the online and digital world. It is not about restricting or banning children from using technology, but is about raising awareness and increasing children’s resilience to the risks so that we can all be confident and safer online. It is also about protecting professionals and ensuring staff are aware of appropriate boundaries and behaviours online.

This training is aimed at updating and training key members of staff to help develop safe school practise around e-Safety. The course aims to support schools in developing up-to-date and appropriate e-safety policies and procedures for students and staff.
