Children's Disability Register

The Children's Disability Register is a register of children between the ages of 0 and 18, who have a 'disability' which can be mild to profound and includes vision, communication, hearing, learning, physical or chronic sickness, anything that has a marked impact on daily life.

The statistics obtained from the Register support Social Services' future planning, and, more importantly for parents and carers, being on the Register keeps them in touch with the latest disability news and information both locally and nationally through Newsletters, flyers and a webpage which is constantly updated.

How do people register?
  • By going to the Children's Disability Register web page and downloading a copy of the Register form, completing this and sending it to the co-ordinator for their area (names and addresses on the last page of the form)
  • By contacting the local co-ordinator who will either send out a form and prepaid envelope, or, if they are unsure about the form and would like assistance in completing it, calling our staff who will offer help.
