All KCN broadband schools can access British Pathe and Audio Network - but note that you have to be in school! This is because free entry is granted on recognition of your school's IP address.
James Blomfield at Capel-le-Ferne Primary has been using British Pathe clips with Year 6. Pupils are making short video dramas about WW2 families stuck in their air raid shelters. The children's edited video productions include some Pathe footage, bomb sound effects, Churchill speeches and Vera Lynn!
For Audio Network, go into SEGfL Projects or directly to: www.audio.lgfl.net
Thousands of paid-for music files are available, mainly in MP3 format. You can listen to them directly, but you will need an MP3 player or appropriate storage media to download. The site is easy to search, for example by theme, style or genre. I'm told that the music files are excellent for drama, multimedia and digital video projects.

This isn't a comprehensive collection, but we love the images (I identify with the bin lady). James Barrett heard about it from Vanessa Baxter, Year R teacher at Challock. Great for displays, PSED and Clicker5! There are also musical instruments.

If you have Clicker5, you may be interested in these CDs with non-fiction interactive big books with differentiated texts. The latest titles - Victorians, Romans, Tudors - have been very well received by teachers on our courses.
Each page links to a Clicker writing grid. Having read for information, pupils can then write with word bank and speech support. The books are well-illustrated and the grids have colour-coding to help build sentences.
Each title costs £55 for a site licence, less 20% discount for Kent schools. See:
All 5 stages of Oxford Reading Tree for Clicker are now available.
