Pupil Discipline (including Anti-Bullying) Policy

Section 88 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 requires every governing body to ensure that their school pursues policies designed to promote good behaviour and discipline among pupils.  In particular it requires governing bodies to:

  • make, and from time to time review, a written statement of principles to guide the head teacher in determining the measures that make up the school’s behaviour policy;
  • consult the head teacher, other appropriate members of staff, parents and all pupils on this statement of principles.

In making or reviewing their statement of principles governing bodies must have regard to guidance issued by the Secretary of State.

Guidance and model policy on bullying in Kent schools are available from the main bullying pages on Kent Trust Web.
