Governors’ Allowances (Schemes for Paying)

Governing bodies that have a delegated budget can choose whether or not to pay allowances to governors and associate members of the governing body.  The DCSF considers it good practice for governing bodies to pay allowances, as governors should not be out of pocket for the valuable work they do.  Where governing bodies choose to do so, it must be in accordance with a policy or scheme.
