The 21st Century Schools White Paper ‘Your child, your schools, our future: building a 21st century schools system’
The 21st Century Schools White Paper ‘Your child, your schools, our future: building a 21st century schools system’ was published on 1 July ahead of the report on the Ministerial Review of Governance, which is still awaited. The report from the ministerial review is expected to provide more detail about the aspirations for school governance set out in the white paper and lead to the introduction of new regulations in September 2010.

Once the report of the ministerial review is available we will decide how best to share the key messages with governors and clerks. If the report is published during the summer break, we will arrange and prepare briefings to be shared at the Governor Partnership Meetings early in the autumn, the dates of which you will find included in ‘The Governor’ publication.
New Senior Management Team structure for CFE
On 25th June 2009 Kent County Council approved a new Senior Management Structure for Children Families and Education under the new Managing Director Rosalind Turner. Recruitment to Director posts will take place over the summer. The structure within the outline functions shown in the attached chart will be further developed by the end of 2009.
