KCC has a small number of coporate strategy documents which provide the organisation with a sense of direction and a focus for the delivery of our services.
Corporate Strategic Plans
- KCC Annual Plan 2008/09
Publishing an Annual Plan (Best Value Performance Plan) is a statutory requirement for all local authorities.
This Annual Plan brings all Kent County Council's activities together in a single document. It sets out
- How we performed in 2007-08
- Our objectives and targets for 2008-09
- How we are transforming the organisation and managing our resources
- Our Contracts Statement
- Towards 2010: Kent: Your County, Your Future, Our Promises
Towards 2010 sets out how KCC will achieve the following goals: - Increased prosperity for Kent through business growth and job creation
- Transformation in education
- Reduced congestion
- Improved health and quality of life
- Quality homes in a well managed environment
- A safer Kent
- Continued improvements in services while keeping council tax down
- Vision For Kent
The Vision was developed through wide consultation between Districts and Parish Councils, the County Council, Medway Unitary Authority, key agencies - Health Authorities, Kent Fire Brigade, Kent County Constabulary, the Learning and Skill Council - and representatives of business, voluntary and community partners in Kent.
The Kent Partnership is the body that oversees the translation of the Vision for Kent into action.
- Kent Agreement (PSA)
KCC was in the pilot of 6 authorities which signed their Public Service Agreements (PSA) with Ministers on 5 February 2001.
The PSA is a suite of local and national targets which all support each other and contribute to an overall aim of Reducing dependency - increasing employment and fulfilment.
The Kent Agreement is about achievable outcomes and a move to preventative programmes that draw in finance and freedom from regulation and prescription. It involves our partners in working together for Kent with a noble goal of reducing and recycling benefit spend and raising personal fulfilment.
- Supporting Independence Briefing
Closely aligned to the Kent Agreement is the Supporting Independence Programme. Changing people's lives by moving them from dependency to independence is a goal that can only be fully achieved with the continuing support of all those organizations that play a part in making up the social fabric of our county.
