Notice BoardNew Processing Times for Motor Claims New Ministry of Justice law reforms relating to road traffic accidents involving personal injury come into being on 6 April 2010. All motor claims involving personal injury valued at between £1,000 and £10,000 will fall to the new processes. The timescale for determining liability between insurance companies has been reduced from 90 days to 15 working days only and claimant costs penalties will apply if the timeframe is not met. It is imperative therefore that all motor accidents involving Kent County Council vehicles are reported immediately to Risk Management & Insurance. A Late Notification Fee of £300 may be charged if completed Claim Notification Forms are not returned to Risk Management & Insurance within 3 working days of the accident to offset some of the additional costs that may be incurred by KCC due to non compliance. What We Do |
Risk Management & Insurance provides schools with a comprehensive insurance package through the Council's Safehands Insurance Programme which has been specifically designed to protect against many of the adverse risks that schools have to face.
In addition to the standard package we also offer School Travel Insurance at very competitive rates. Belonging to Safehands has many other benefits. For example, we work closely with schools providing advice and support when claims for compensation are made or suspected. We also provide advice on security issues and will visit schools where there are particular problems to try and identify solutions.
The aim of this web site is to keep schools informed about all aspects of their insurance arrangements to include details of policy cover, how to deal with claims both for and against, risk management/security issues, topics of interest such as seminars and good practices within our schools and of course how to contact us.
